Slobodan Kovac: We Started to Play after Second Set
Poland won their third home match of the 2015 FIVB Volleyball World League in Czestochowa, defeating Iran 3-1 (25-20, 25-22, 21-25, 27-25).

Poland staged another stunning performance in the 2015 FIVB Volleyball World League in Czestochowa, and defeated Iran 3-1 on Friday to stand behind of the US in pool B.

"We tried to play good volleyball, but really started to play after the second set – the ten minute break helped us get into the game," Slobodan Kovac said.

"When we put pressure on the opponents with our serve we get good results. On the other hand, Poland played good with high ball and used our hands a lot," Iran's coach added.

Iran showed better consistency throughout their third match in this year's World League, but great blocking and spiking from Kubiak, and wonderful attacks from Kurek and Mika lead the host to their third victory in the 2015 FIVB Volleyball World League.

Last week, Iran were overpowered by the US in their first and second 2015 FIVB Volleyball World League match with a same 3-1 loss.

"If we hope for a better result we have to do something tomorrow – continue with good service, and try to be more efficient with spike after defence," the Serbian stressed.

Now the US have 9 points, and stand atop of Pool B. Poland kept their second spot with 8 points from their three games, and are followed by Russia (1 point) and Iran (0).

"Congratulations to Poland on a well-deserved win. We had problems with reception, block and even our counter-attack. In such a situation it’s hard to play on a high level," Iran's Marouf said.

"Our young players did change something but I think it was not enough. I think it was not their best day – they can play much better than today," Zenit Kazan star underlined.

The National Iranian volleyball team had ranked fourth in the FIVB 2014 World League, gaining the best title among the Asian teams which have participated in the 25-year history of the league.

Brazil (9 times), Italy (8 times), Russia (3 times), Cuba (once), the Netherlands (once), Poland (once) and the US (twice) are the seven countries which have won the World League during its previous 25 editions.

Also, Iran had ended the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship in sixth place by beating world powerhouses like the US and Italy.

According to the latest FIVB ranking in 2014, the Islamic Republic of Iran is in the 10th spot in the world. Three-time defending champions Brazil remain the top-ranked volleyball team with 335 points after they won the silver medal in the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship, and are followed by Russia with 330 points, despite a disappointing fifth-place finish with Poland occupying the final podium spot after their excellent performance in front of their home fans at the Men's World Championship with 275 points.

Italy (fourth), the US (fifth), Argentina (sixth), Germany (seventh), Serbia (eighth), Bulgaria (ninth) and Iran (10th) complete the top 10.
